A pristine copy of this second edition of 1978 reproduces the text of the original printing of 1933 [Ryerson Press], but with some alteration of the illustrations. These archival photographs are well-chosen and varied in their content: from 'Piles of Buffalo Skulls at the Railroad Siding, Saskatoon, 1890' to 'Blood Indians at Fort Whoop-Up, 1974'.

The original edition was in a limited print run of 500 copies [cf. Peel, 3rd, 5689; Whale 604; Adams 'Herd', 1032]. A wonderful pioneering journal with much on the early days of Southern Alberta, and the Lethbridge in particular.
