The 1945 printing was described thusly: “These papers include a short history of the St. Roch, navigation reports providing information on ice conditions and navigation difficulties, patrol reports of sledge journeys, a realistic portrayal of the work and working conditions of the police patrols; and tables of air and sea temperatures taken three-times daily during the second voyage, July 29 – Sept. 20, 1944.” (Arctic Bibliography, Vol. 2, #14925.) The present ‘special edition’ reprint adds a very useful and informative Introduction by nautical historian James P. Delgado.
