Published to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Capitol Theatre in Vernon, November 7, 1938. Oblong, 5.25” x 8.5”; stapled , 2 leaves in light card covers. Promotional ephemera with ports. of the Canadian Director of Famous Players, J. J. Fitzgibbons; the B.C. Manager, Frank Gow; the architect, Richard Curtis; and John Girvan, “Fellow Institute British Decorators”. The Opening Show was Valley of the Giants starring Wayne Morris and Claire Trevor. Admission for the Opening Night was 40c, but well worth the cost as the move was shot in “The Supreme Triumph of Technicolor”! Later in the week one could view Four Daughters, Hurricane, and, as a special Armistice Programme starting at Midnight on November 10th featuring Racket Busters starring Humphrey Bogart and George Brent. Such community events seem in retrospect much more poignant on the eve of the outbreak of WWII. Uncommon artifact of British Columbia history; light diagonal fold, but VG overall.
