North Dakota: Viking Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church, Octavo. Card Covers. Fine. Card Covers bound with cord; n.d. (circa 1932), n.p.; illustrated; unpaginated (but 16 pp.).
Uncommon history of the role of the Ladies' Aids of East and West Viking, North Dakota in the growth of a Lutheran Christian community in the area, and the eventual completion in 1903 of a place of worship, the Viking Lutheran Church (an example of Gothic architecture, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 – source: Wikipedia). Illustrations include photographs of the church itself, a portrait of Rev. G. R. Estrem, and group images of some of the members of both the East and West Viking Ladies' Aid. Apart from lists of these members in the late nineteenth century, and a detailed history of their work, the booklet is worthy of note for its inclusion of the Program for the Thirty-Seventh Anniversary Festival in 1931. A splendid copy of a rare bit of history.
